If you are a volunteer with IDA-UMB (aka UMBIDA), we would like to offer you opportunity to be recognized for
your volunteerism. IDA-UMB is a certified organization with the Presidential Service Awards. This means that you
can be recognized for all those long hours you are putting in volunteering for our organization.
Become a President’s Volunteer. To sign up follow these easy steps.
- Send an e-mail to to get our Certifying Organization Code and
Group Key.
- Go to this website: http://www.presidentialserviceawards.gov/tgact/ros/dspROSlogin.cfm
- Create a user id (use your e-mail address) and password.
Make sure you write these down where you will remember them.
- If you are less than 15 yrs old, a parent must enter their own name on the sign-in screen and click Yes,
I am greater than 15 yrs old. This will allow you to continue to enter data. No one under 15 is allowed to enter data in to the
database. Later parents can then enter the younger children’s name and correct age after completing the sign on screen.
- Click on at the bottom of the screen.
- Click the tab at the top of the screen. Under profile fill out
the information for the yourself and also for other family members.
- Under , enter the:
Certifying Organization Code
- Then click on at the bottom of your screen.
- Click the tab at the top of your screen.
- Enter our Group Key number and click
- Your name will appear along with others in IDA-UMB group.
- Start recording your hours under the tab.
To Record Service Hours
- Log in at: https://www.presidentialserviceawards.gov/tgact/login/dspLoginAll.cfm?mssg=10
- Click on Tab
- Create New Record
- Fill out information
- Click on
Guidelines for Hours
- Keep record of all services, dates performed, and what was done.
- Service activities need to meet one of the categories above.
- All service activities for an award need to take place within a 12-month period. For our group the time period is January 1st to December 31st.
- All activities need to be unpaid and may not include court-ordered community service.
- Service hours during a particular period can only apply for one individual Presidential Volunteer Service Award.
- All individuals can sign up to have their hours also count as part of the group award. Each participant needs a minimum of 25 hours to be included in the group award.
Types of Service Hours
Hours spent on the following activities can count toward the service award:
- Time spent volunteering for IDA-UMB activities
- Time spent at Board meetings or Committee meetings of IDA-UMB
- Time spent advocating for change at the Legislature
